Set Up a Dedicated Email‑Sending Domain in Wellconnect Business Suite

Modified on Mon, 21 Apr at 7:47 AM

Good to know: This guide is for anyone who sends email from Wellconnect—newsletters, automations, or invoices—and wants the best possible deliverability.

1. What’s a “Dedicated Sending Domain” and Why Bother?

When you hit Send inside Wellconnect, the platform still has to prove you own the address in the “From” line. A dedicated sending domain (usually a sub‑domain like mail.yourbrand.com) does three things:

  1. Protects your main domain’s reputation. If a cold‑email blast gets flagged, your day‑to‑day inbox (yourbrand.com) stays safe.

  2. Stops the “sent via wellconnect‑email.com” warning some inboxes show when you don’t authenticate.

  3. Gives you full control over SPF, DKIM, and other geeky records that keep emails out of spam.

No clue what SPF/DKIM are? Don’t worry—just follow the steps below. The platform will generate every record for you.

2. Before You Start

What you needWhy
The ability to log in to your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap, etc.)That’s where you’ll add 3–4 quick DNS records.
A spare sub‑domain you’re not using for anything elsee.g. mail., notify., mg. or no‑reply.
Patience (DNS changes can take up to 24 hours)Most finish in <30 min, but it’s not instant everywhere.

3. Step‑by‑Step Setup

Step 1 – Open Email Services

  1. In Wellconnect, go to ⚙️ Settings → Email Services.

  2. Click Dedicated Domain & IP.

Step 2 – Add Your Sub‑Domain

  1. Hit Add Domain.

  2. Type the sub‑domain you want to use, e.g. mail.yourbrand.com (don’t include https:// or www). Press Save.

Step 3 – Add the DNS Records (or use a Domain Connect Feature)

Wellconnect now shows four rows—something like:

  • TXT record for SPF

  • CNAME record(s) for DKIM & open‑tracking

  • MX record

Do one of two things:

  • If your registrar is supported for 1‑click automation, choose Auto‑Configure and sign in.

  • Otherwise, copy‑paste each value into your DNS settings exactly as displayed. (Remove any spaces and keep quote marks if shown.)

Tip: Most registrars want you to leave the root domain off the Name/Host field. Example: Enter mail instead of mail.yourbrand.com. When in doubt, check their help docs.

Step 4 – Verify

Back in Wellconnect, click Verify. Green checkmarks appear once each record propagates. Grab a coffee; refresh after 5‑10 min if you’re eager.
